Blowing Stuff Up

Yesterday was a good day.  A whole lot better than Sunday.  I was able to get a 4 mile run in, had a good breakfast, went and saw Larry Crowne (it was a cute movie, not too bad), and then had a lot of friends and family over for a big dinner.  My dad cooked up 6 racks of ribs, and a lot of other people brought over sides or dessert.  It was a feast.  I was proud of myself.  I didn't eat too much.  I was in control!  I did not want to be the one lighting all the fireworks again this year, but I was roped into it.  We had a nice spread and put on quite the show!

We didn't get back until 11 pm, and I didn't get to sleep until 11:30.  I still dragged my butt out of bed at 4 am and made it on time to run with Nixa Running.  Very cool group.  They had a 5 mile run planned this morning.  I was a little overwhelmed with the thought of 5 miles, but I knocked it out with the help of Kellie and Chris.  They ran with me and walked when I needed the breaks.  That really helped me!  I need that kind of support.  It just makes me better. If I run all the days I have planned with them and my long run on Saturday, I will run 30 miles this week!   I remember when a 10 mile week was a big deal!

I went to boot camp after my run and did a killer workout.  I am pretty tired.  Let's see how today goes.  I know for sure I will be going to bed early.

Sounds like a great fourth!

I had to get up and run "Track Tuesday" on less than five hours of sleep this morning, so early bed time is sounding really good here too. :) hope your day is good!
