Three Things Thursday

How about another Three Things Thursday?  (After I typed that, I imagined hearing the Price Is Right theme playing...  Don't ask me why...)

1. I have muscles hurt that have never hurt before while running today.  That makes me excited, because I feel like I am pushing myself to the next level of running and that I might start seeing some new muscle growth in my legs. But DANG, I felt it this morning.

2. I am not a solo runner.  I am learning this more and more.  Today I didn't have anyone to run with, and I walked more than I would like to admit.  I only did 4 instead of the 5 miles. Why? Because I didn't have anyone to push me or anyone for me to help motivate.  I find that I am stronger if I am being motivated by someone who is a better runner than me. Or if someone is struggling, I worry about helping them and push myself to be better for them.  Even if they are not struggling, I love having someone to talk to.  It makes the miles go by.  Do not like solo running....

3. So all my friends here in Springfield really need to check out a new cafe and coffee house in town.  It is called Brown Egg. The food is amazing, and the hot chocolate is really good.  (I don't drink coffee, but I am sure it is just as good.) I also really love the atmosphere and thought that has gone into the place.  My friend Brad from high school and his girlfriend started the business, and yesterday was the grand opening.  Just a great spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Go in, check it out and enjoy!  Everything is homemade and all original recipes.

YEAH for sore muscles!! :)
I'm totally a solo runner ... but maybe I haven't found the right running partner yet. I tend to push myself harder than others do. I go faster and longer when it's just me I have to convince! LOL!

I'm a solo runner myself, but I'm starting to believe in the power of a group. I wish I could find one around here that wasn't super elite or something that might as well be relative to me. :^)

Hope you have a great Sunday, Chris!
