Rest Days Don't Mean I'm Lazy

I have to tell myself that every Friday now.  My body needs a rest day before my long runs!  I feel like I am lazy and not working hard enough when I take a rest day.  I know it is silly, but it's true.  My back will even hurt a little when I don't work out that day.  Please remind me that reset days are just as important as working out....

Saturday is going to be a good day.  We are going to race and run with Micah and have a great morning.  Also, Jenn and I are going to go on a much needed date night.  We are going to go get sushi, and that is as far as we got.  We don't want to do the movie thing.  Any ideas on a good date night activity?  We are both lame and cannot think of anything fun.  We could use your ideas.

I have to tell myself this constantly also! Yesterday I took a rest day and I kept feeling pangs of guilt through out the evening. BUT you know how I know it's a GOOD thing? The next day when I work out, my body LOVES it and I get one of the best work outs ever of the week. Same with runs - I always feel so much better after taking a rest day. :) Body talks!

The other day Marcus took me shooting at the shooting range. It was actually a lot of fun.
